Director of the Division of Ophthalmic, and Ear, Nose and Throat Devices at the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological  China cosmetic bottle Factory Health, Malvina Eydelman, in a statement said patients with iris defects may experience severe vision problems, as well as dissatisfaction with the appearance of their eye.The US Food and Drug Administration approved the first stand-alone prosthetic iris, a surgically implanted device to treat adults and children whose iris is completely missing or damaged due to a congenital condition called aniridia or other damage to the eye.A surgeon makes a small incision, inserts the device under the incision, unfolds it and smooths out the edges using surgical instruments..The prosthetic iris is held in place by the anatomical structures of the eye or, if needed, by sutures, FDA said.The FDA granted approval of the "CustomFlex Artificial Iris" to HumanOptics AG a Germany-based firm that produces and distributes intraocular implants of the highest quality. It also improves the cosmetic appearance of the eye in patients with aniridia.The CustomFlex Artificial Iris is made of thin, foldable medical-grade silicone and is custom-sized and coloured for each individual patient.The study found low rates of adverse events associated with the device or the surgical procedure, it added.

The study measured patients’ self-reported decrease in severe sensitivity to light and glare post-procedure, health-related quality of life, and satisfaction with the cosmetic improvement or appearance of the prosthesis."The safety and effectiveness of the CustomFlex Artificial Iris was demonstrated primarily in a non-randomised clinical trial of 389 adult and paediatric patients with aniridia or other iris defects.Iris is the coloured part of the eye around the pupil."More than 70 per cent of patients reported significant decreases in light sensitivity and glare as well as an improvement in health-related quality of life following the procedure." he said.It is also contraindicated for patients who are pregnant.In addition, 94 per cent of patients were satisfied with the artificial iris’ appearance," the regulator said with regards to the efficacy of the artificial iris

I mean, you don’t want to talk about something good that’s about to happen, only to have it come crashing down. I want to be in films that are amazing. And I think that the message is to be safe and not to do something that you regret later in your life. Whether or not they are leading roles, doesn’t matter at all. All my dreams are coming true one by one.How has your relationship evolved with Daniel over the years?My relationship with Daniel has been amazing. When he gave it to me I immediately started crying because I lost both my parents and when I got married I didn’t get mom’s jewellery. See, I touched the wood again what’s wrong with me (laughs). His parents are white so it’s not that they understand these sentimental values of mom giving you kangan sort.How how well do you understand the business side of your career?Daniel and I are very much into the business world. Daniel was also not born here.Are you superstitious?I have started believing in some of them, I guess.How do you react to this whole controversy of banning the condom commercial?I believe in the brand that I endorse.Sunny Leone has created a lot of buzz since the time she stepped into the Indian film industry. My team and I created the formula that we wanted. I am so proud of Modi because he has made the Indian rupee stronger over the last three to four months and it feels great.You are now the brand ambassador for the jewellery brand Jewelsouk. From launching her own perfume line to now a cosmetic line, she has proved to be multi-faceted. Today, trashing her critics, she boasts of working with some of the stars and even superstars of the industry, including Shah Rukh Khan. As each month passes, we do so much more in a country where I wasn’t born in. I am also launching my own cosmetic lines. But apart  from the star that she is, Sunny is also a businesswoman. I also think that there are plenty of people who look at you with mal-intentions.
